Song of the SeaAn otherworldly blend of Celtic traditional
Song of the Sea offers a window through which we can glimpse the mystic beauty of the Celtic folksoul. The fierce and passionate spirit of the Celts has been a longtime inspiration for Sharon, and this is evident in her latest release. Full of longing and ache, most songs reference the sea in some way, and give the feeling of yearning to return that seafarers everywhere must at one time have felt. "The Sea has always felt like a bridge to another world, a deeper world within, that is closer to the Divine than our everyday lives often afford us," says Sharon. "Song of the Sea was written in the spirit of tapping these oceanic archetypes to kindle the magick within." Sharon believes that we can learn to see the world through the eyes of enchantment, thus bringing a sparkle of magick and wonder to a world that has become too preoccupied with "nuts and bolts." She strives to contribute to this re-enchantment of the world through music. True to her vision, Song of the Sea is full of sirens witches, phoenixes, pirates, muses, and otherworldly heroes. Its title track speaks of the longing of one who has glimpsed the Celtic Otherworld. It is a perfect album for floating away from your everyday cares into a world of beauty and grace. Lushly produced at El Mundo Bueno Studios in San Francisco, this predominantly acoustic album features sometimes powerful, sometimes ethereal vocals and striking poetic imagery, supported by an instrumental framework of guitar, mando-cello, violin, Uilleann pipes, Irish whistles and piano. Included as a free download when you buy Song of the Sea is the traditional ballad "My Johnny was a Shoemaker," a woman's song of yearning for her lover to return from sea.

Sharon Knight & PandemonaeonMusic for bellydancers in combat boots!
Pandemonaeon represents the "rock and roll" era of Sharon and Winter's musical partnership. As a duo, they combined Sharon's Celtic and Middle-Eastern musical passions with the rock, jazz and blues styles of Winter's background. Eventually they evolved into a 5–7 piece band that combined Celtic, Arabic, Spanish, and Rock styles to create a unique world fusion sound, which they describe as "tribal-trance-rock." Their sound is reminiscent of a harder edged Dead can Dance or Loreena McKennitt. Pandemonaeon produced lavish live shows created around themes such as Temple of Dreams and Return of the Winter King. These shows were high-energy celebrations of life, and featured guest performers such as dueling fiddle masters, leather-clad fetish vixens, bellydancers, fire-spinners, world-class guest musicians, and sexy urban gypsies serving chocolate covered strawberries. The audience was just as festive, always happy to participate and strut their latest outlandish fashion. Pandemonaeon does not currently perform live, but there are many good memories, and some of them are preserved in this live CD from one of their most extravagant shows. Features the musicianship of Egyptian percussion master Reda Darwish, Uilleann bagpiper Todd Denman, and multi-instrumentalist Gari Hegedus, who performs regularly with Sharon and Winter, and is co-founder of the band Stellamara as well. PandemonaeonRaw tribal grooves combining Middle-Eastern
Pandemonaeon's self-titled debut has a raw, primitive feel to it, somewhat like Dead Can Dance, but with higher energy created by driving percussion and electric guitars. Saz, zyls and dumbek are featured on this album, giving it a Turkish-rock flavor. The same mytho-poetic themes that are prevalent in Sharon's Celtic works are continued here. IncantationAll-original Celtic folk-rock blend in the spirit of Pentangle and Steeleye Span
Incantation, Sharon's first recording, is a collection of 10 original songs written in the Celtic tradition. To create this album, Sharon drew upon imagery that she imagines would have inspired the ancient Bards, the Celtic vision-poets. Part storytelling, part mythmaking, part prayer, Incantation reflects the lush tapestries of the Emerald Isle. Reminiscent of early Loreena McKennitt or Pentangle, this album incorporates elements of folk-rock as well as traditional Celtic instrumentation. Her vivid poetic imagery is delivered in a voice perfectly suited to the Celtic style, and is framed by acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, flutes, whistles, Bodhran, and keyboard.
