ABOUT
Hi there! Welcome to my super-friendly, down to earth introduction, from me to you. If you are looking for a more "official" musician's bio thingy, check out my press kit.
If not and you just want to get to know me, this is the place. :+)
I'm Sharon. I am a nationally touring musician performing my own style of Celtic-inspired folk rock which I call Neofolk Romantique.
I make my living doing this. It is a modest living, but growing all the time and I am having a blast!
My music is inspired by my Celtic roots, but far from traditional. I am much more a "re-imagined history" kind of girl. I love Steampunk, the SCA, Faerie and Pirate festivals, mythic masquerades, etc. I sometimes like to think of my music as "Steam-folk".
I am a co-founder - with Winter, down there on the left - of Gothic-Tribal-Folk-Metal band Pandemonaeon. Darker and harder than Neofolk Romantique yet also exotic and sensual. This music honors our Underworld aspects and seems to keep us balanced.
I am deeply in love with this beautiful jewel of a planet we live on, and believe this world is full of magic if only we can remember to see it.
I believe learning to see magic is a matter of cultivating perception and in so doing, we re-enchant the world.
We begin to re-enchant the world by awakening our imaginations. To this end is every morsel of my life dedicated - every song, every art piece, every snippet of writing, every musing, every workshop, every lifestyle choice. I am that passionate about it.
I am the kind of person who will paint my walls teal so I can have a mermaid bedroom.
I love to travel. I want to see as much of the world as I possibly can.
I love Finnish metal. And whisky. And oysters. And martinis. And dark chocolate. And cats! And the sea, oh the sea!
I believe the great myths and legends passed down by every culture since the dawn of humanity are keys to the fulfillment of our destinies as human beings.
I aspire to live every moment of my life with as much beauty, poetry, and wonder as I possibly can. I also believe that living a life of beauty, poetry, and wonder does not require a lot of money. It merely requires imagination. This is something I talk about quite a bit on my blog.
